Site Layout Exercise 2

This exercise is designed to progress your skills in 2D drafting and to test your understanding of layouts and printing to scale from paper space.

The Plan

The illustration above shows the boundary of a development site with three office buildings, an access road, some trees and a lake. All linear dimensions are in metres. Use the dimensions and co-ordinates to accurately draw the site boundary, building footprints and other features (you do not need to draw the dimensions, these are for information only). Think about layers. Perhaps you should use one layer for the boundary and one for the buildings etc. There are an infinite number of ways to construct this drawing; there isn't a right way or a wrong way. Use the draw and modify skills you have already learned to construct the drawing in the most logical way. If you get stuck, have another look at some of the tutorials. The Drawing Objects and Modifying Objects tutorials contain lots of information that may help you.

When you have completed the site layout in model space, set up a layout with an A3 drawing size and configure your drawing to plot at 1:1,250. Remember that this drawing is in metres, so you will need to take this into account when calcutating the viewport scale. Don't forget to add a titleblock and a north point.

As this is a more complicated drawing than the first site layout exercise, the dimensions are given in 3 different drawings for clarity.
